The Life Enhancement Center incorporates EAGALA, EAP and extensive work using the Round Pen System in a psychotherapy type of environment. The Round Pen System is designed to provide opportunities for clients to discover the ways in which they relate to themselves and others. While working through a series of exercises in a round pen setting, clients get continual feedback from their equine partner. |

The horse becomes the catalyst for change, acting as a mirror for the clients to realize the patterns of behavior they exhibit in their life outside of the round pen. How do they relate to their spouse, their children, their employers, employees and friends? What kind of negative self-talk undermines their pursuit of happiness and therefore sabotages their success? If they are not living their dreams . . . why not? And just as important, how can they change the behaviors that are creating these dysfunctional situations in their lives? How can they stop being their own worst enemy? The Round Pen System is designed to help facilitate this learning.
The Round Pen System can also help people with physical, mental, emotional, behavioral and intellectual challenges. Clients dealing with conditions such as ADD, ADHD, bipolar, depression, addictions, phobias, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as situations involving various types of abuse, grief and loss, will benefit as well from this work. Horses have a unique ability to teach humans valuable lessons about themselves. One of the first things the horse teaches us is to be honest with ourselves. When we develop the courage to be honest with ourselves about ourselves, the next step is to develop the comfort level to be honest with others as well. Unlike humans, horses don't have the ability or the need to lie . . . they don't have hidden agendas, prejudices or preconceived ideas of what is "wrong" with someone . . . and so are perfect partners to aid in the personal growth of humans from myriad backgrounds and situations.
| Whether you are a couple working to maintain a healthy marriage, a parent wanting to better communicate with your child, a child struggling in school socially or academically, an executive desiring to better communicate with his staff, a management team learning to work together as a team, a worker trying to stand his ground with his employer, an accident victim striving to overcome mental and physical disabilities, or any number of other scenarios, the Round Pen System can be used as a tool to promote personal growth and development in your life. |
